NOTE FROM MY DAD, NELSON NELMS REGARDING HIS UNCLE PAUL NELMS:   When word was received that Uncle Paul had been killed in France, my Dad's grandfather, Thomas T. Nelms took off running out in the woods.  As a small child, my Dad was sent to find him and bring him home.  Dad stated that Grandpa Nelms mind was never the same since that day.
